06. Get a job and take your first step towards working in fashion shows.
When I graduated from Mode Gakuen, I decided to find work at Ebashi's company, "Touch." Ebashi was working under the title of director, but I didn't really know what that job entailed. But I wanted to be involved in fashion shows. It wasn't an era when you could research things so quickly like today, so I thought I'd go to Ebashi, who was a lecturer there. I was actually rejected once, but I tried again anyway, and was happily hired. I later heard that a female stylist who was Ebashi's right-hand man said to me, "You're the son of a Buddhist priest and seem like a serious person, so it should be fine" (laughs).
