Whether it's fashion, music, or sports, there is a style that only each person can express in any genre. "Style is Everything." That's right, someone once said that style is everything. "Style Resume" is a series of interviews with adults who, as the name suggests, have style, and is updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In this 16th installment, we will consider what it means to live with art through the life of Mick Itaya, a visual artist who has worked on the original logo for Uniqlo and whose cassette magazine "TRA" is permanently preserved at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

11. Various things about "TRA".

I think the "Alternative Fashion World" event held in 1982 was significant in the sense that it laid the foundation for TRA. It was a showcase where people who wanted to express something could present their work based on the theme of each event. The person who took the lead was Shikida-san (Jun Shikida, entertainment producer, former representative director of the NPO BeGood Cafe, now deceased). He asked me, "I'd like to do this, what do you think?" I replied, "If it's interesting, let's do it," and he said, "There's this guy named Ijima (Kaoru Ijima, photographer)..." and things started moving in that direction. We held it three times in total.
