13. Six months after leaving the company, he launched Globe Specs.
The first thing I did after leaving Iwaki was to apologize to the owners of the stores in each country that I had been in contact with. When I thought about my future after apologizing for the time being, I realized that the network I had been building in each country at Iwaki seemed like it would be a good one, and I thought it would be fun to open a store or company that would act as a window to introduce the people and things I had met there. I thought that this would be the way I could be most useful to both overseas and Japan. And so, I started Globe Specs. Looking back, it's been about six months since I left the company, and I think I did quite well (laughs).
