Whether it's fashion, music, or sports, there is a style that only each person can express in any genre. "Style is Everything." That's right, someone once said that style is everything. "Style Resume" is a series of interviews with adults who, as the name suggests, have style, and is updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In this 17th installment, we will consider what it means to live with art through the life of Mick Itaya, a visual artist who has worked on the original logo for Uniqlo and whose cassette magazine "TRA" is permanently preserved at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

01. Born silently just before the hour of the horse in the year of the horse.

I was born at 11:55am on March 22nd, 1954, in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It was the Year of the Horse, and just before the Hour of the Horse. Apparently, I didn't cry when I was born, and the midwife had to turn me upside down and slap me on the back before I finally cried out "Ogyaa." It was my mother's first birth, and I was born about two weeks later than expected. There's a theory that children actually choose when they're born, and if you think about it, I must have been quite a selfish child. I wanted to be born on this day, and I didn't want to cry just because I was born (laughs).
