FASHIONREGULARWATCH

Every year, various brands release mechanical watches with a particular style. What kind of clothes do they go with? Here are some suggestions. Every month, we choose one watch that we think is great and introduce it with an outfit that goes well with it.

Small changes create big changes.

While driving, the word "tipping point" suddenly came on the car radio. I didn't know what it meant, so I wondered, and the radio host explained it to me.

"TIP means to tip, and refers to a turning point where things change dramatically when certain conditions are exceeded. It refers to the phenomenon in which an idea, product, or message spreads like a virus, spreading rapidly."

Digging deeper into this word that caught my attention, I discovered that "Tipping Point" is a phrase that became popular in the 1970s. Journalist Malcolm Gladwell explains in his book that it referred to the movement of white people living in American regional cities to the suburbs in preparation for the influx of other races. The word, which once referred to a local social phenomenon, has come to be used in a variety of fields.

Looking closer to home, the "tipping point" of saunas was the manga and essay "Sauna-do," which was adapted into a TV drama in 2019. This captured the hearts of young people, and since then, new sauna facilities have been built all over the country. Tent saunas in the midst of nature are also popular. Our company opened "Totoken," a facility that combines a runstay and beer bar, in Nihonbashi Hamacho, Tokyo, and is now attracting attention from both inside and outside the industry.

In the fashion world, the Machiko wrap has become popular in winter in recent years. The first boom dates back to 1953. It was a cinematic look that actress Kishi Keiko played on the big screen in the hit movie "Your Name." More than 70 years have passed since then, and there must be a reason why young people are wearing it again.

They say that fashion trends go in and out of fashion over and over again, so I wonder if we'll see a comeback in the future from styles like the Miyuki tribe, the Takenoko tribe, or even bodycon and Shinora (laughs).

It all starts with something small. Within family, friends, school, work, social media... When these start to connect and spread, they reach a "tipping point" and become a big wave.

Although some may view it differently, one of the turning points in the history of BVLGARI was the launch of the BVLGARI BVLGARI watch in 1977.

The base of this watch was the “Bvlgari Roma,” a concept created by Gianni Bulgari, the third generation of the Bvlgari family, and shaped by watch designer Gerald Genta. It was a gift digital watch given to 100 customers, with the letters “BVLGARI” and “ROMA” engraved on the bezel, making it an elaborate design.

Two years later, the Bvlgari Bvlgari was released, and the watch gained widespread recognition when it was worn by such notable figures as singer Tina Turner, businessman Bill Gates, and actor Benicio del Toro.

The "Bvlgari Bvlgari" in the photo is a model released last year. The yellow gold case, simple face, and the distinctive double logo engraved on the bezel are said to be based on previous models, but they remain modern as if time has stopped. As you can see, it goes well with casual clothes and shoes, so it is easy to use.

Before we knew it, nearly half a century had passed since the birth of the Bulgari Bulgari. The hands that keep time on this timeless watch will surely never stop.
