08. Inspired by the "A-2" I saw in "The Great Escape."
What got me interested in flight jackets was, of course, the "A-2" worn by McQueen in "The Great Escape." When I was in junior high school, before they started selling branded items like they do now, Komehyo used to sell leather jackets for 1,500 yen each. So I bought two jackets, one with a collar and slash pockets, and one with a similar texture but no collar, and I removed the patch pockets and sewed them over the slash pockets to make something that looked like an "A-2."
