7. During the atelier period, my work expanded naturally and steadily.
In 1962, I graduated from the Nobuko Hara Academy of Dressmaking, and after about a year of experience working in an atelier and couturier, I set up my own atelier. First in Roppongi, then about a year later, I rented the first floor of a house in Azabu-Juban as a residence and atelier. I was already married at the time, so I needed to have a certain amount of income, so I decided to do it myself. At first, I got a little help from my parents, but I soon managed to get it running somehow.
