05. Learn about New York punk through music magazines.
After I started listening to rock music, the magazines I read changed from "Screen" and "Roadshow" to "Music Life" and "Ongaku Senka". Then, in "Music Life", I started to read articles written by Haruko Mizukami (editor and music critic) about the underground music scene in New York. That was my first encounter with "punk rock". I think Mizukami was probably the first person in Japan to use the term.
