Everyone has their favorite places. Restaurants, cafeterias, coffee shops, cafes, bars... Because they are friends, because the food is delicious, because it's comfortable... The genres and reasons are different for each person. If there's one thing we can say, if you have such a place, it must mean a rich life. So, we want that person to tell us about their favorite places. For the fourth installment, we went to "PAIN et GOHAN" in Daizawa, where MURO, the world-famous King of Diggin', visits every week.

A restaurant where everyone can be happy.

I first heard about "Pan to Gohan" 10 years ago when I moved to this area. I often passed by it on my way to and from work, and I knew there was a nice shop near my house. One day, I just happened to pop in, and the owner, Shingo, and his wife, Kaori, welcomed me with a smile. From then on, I started going to "Pan to Gohan" regularly, and now I drop in about two days a week for meetings at lunchtime and for birthdays of family and friends at dinnertime.

The bread and rice at this restaurant are literally delicious, and I think the warm atmosphere created by the two owners is one of the reasons why they are so loved. As we talked, I learned that the two were originally office workers who left their jobs to open "Pan to Gohan." Shingo, who has trained at various restaurants, and Kaori, who is a self-taught bread baker, have many dishes that they consider "delicious," and people of all ages and genders can enjoy them. It's easy to see why people naturally flock to this restaurant.

They are open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and of course you can just use the cafe. What's more, you can bring your pets in after 5pm, which is nice.

In the morning, you can choose freshly baked bread and add a soup, salad, and drink to your set, and at lunch they offer hearty sandwiches and curry, and at night they serve black beef stew and gratin. All the dishes are absolutely delicious, but I like and often eat the "Awashima Chicken", "Curry", and the limited-time menu item "Mini Bread with Chestnut Skin". Whenever I go, the delicious smell can be heard outside the shop, so I always end up stopping by when I have some free time.

"Mini loaf of chestnut bread with skin"
A seasonal product only available in autumn. A tasty mini loaf of bread rolled with plenty of rum-soaked chestnuts in their skins and baked.
"Today's curry"
Curry made with beef, chicken, pork, beef tongue, beef tendon, etc. The comforting taste will remind you of "mother's curry."
"Awashima Chicken"
Half a baby chicken is deep-fried slowly for about 20 minutes, seasoned simply with salt, resulting in a delicious dish with crispy skin and juicy meat.

Every September, we hold an anniversary party at "Pan to Gohan," and many DJs participate, including SHINCO from Scha Dara Parr, DJ MAGARA from MASTERPIECE SOUND, Santa Inoue, and others. I've also had the opportunity to play with DJ NORI as CAPTAIN VINYL, and they've been really nice to me.

It's hard to find a restaurant that makes everyone happy, from children to adults, through food. I'm grateful for this wonderful encounter.
