Vol.3 Roomba Combo 10 Max
There is only one month left this year. It has suddenly gotten cold, and I need a down jacket or some other outerwear. The city is filled with a Christmas mood, and I can hear people talking about year-end parties here and there. As I realize that the year is coming to an end, the annual December event of spring cleaning comes to mind. I was thinking about taking it easy this year, and then I noticed the Roomba Combo 10 Max.
Nowadays, robot vacuum cleaners are available from various companies, but when it comes to robot vacuum cleaners, it's Roomba. It is so well known that some people think that the general term for robot vacuum cleaners is "Roomba". There are so many types that it can be confusing, but choosing is easy. Basically, the performance is determined by the combination of the vacuum cleaner itself and the charging station. The Roomba Combo 10 Max has two types of charging stations, the AutoWash Charging Station and the AutoEmpty Charging Station, and this time I tried the former. It requires almost no maintenance and does almost everything automatically, making it perfect for lazy men.
The Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Charging Station can be summed up in one word: professional cleaner. And when it comes to floors, it's probably a cleaning expert.
Assemble the charging station, fill the water tank with water, and start cleaning. This machine can do wet wiping and suction cleaning at the same time, and has stronger wiping power than before. It can identify and avoid dirt with a camera, automatically increase the number of runs, and of course you can manage it with an app. It has great features such as being able to detect and avoid pet droppings, and the accuracy of the map improves as you use it, but the best part is how it can be combined with the charging station.
When it comes back to charge after cleaning, it automatically sucks up the dirt from the dust box inside the main unit and puts it in a paper bag inside the charging station. It stores about 60 days' worth of dirt here, so it makes it so easy that you practically don't need to throw it out. It then uses water from the water tank inside the charging station to automatically wash and dry the mop pad and charging station. The dirty water is stored in a separate tank, so not only do you have to throw out the dirt every time, but you also don't have to go through the trouble of washing the mop pad. This makes it very stress-free.
In fact, even after I cleaned the floor myself, I was able to remove a lot of dust, so I thought it would be better to leave the floor cleaning to someone else and slack off. It will be cleaner that way, so there's no choice.
The downside is that it is a little loud, making about the same noise as a regular vacuum cleaner, and it is difficult to use if the floor is messy. The former is not a problem if you schedule it to run when you are not at home, and the latter has the advantage that it makes it a habit to not leave things on the floor, which helps keep the room tidy. Nowadays, a coined word, "Roombabull," has been coined to mean that Roomba is easy to clean, and there are many pieces of furniture aimed at this purpose.
It certainly has a cuteness like a pet, and when I tried it out in the office, people shouted "So cute!" and ran after it. You can give it a name, and you grow more and more attached to it. Seeing that reminded me of a story in the manga "Space Brothers."
The story is about the protagonist Mutta and a few others driving an autonomous rover towards the finish line. After overcoming various obstacles by making various modifications, the rover, which was finally named "Pieco", did a great job crossing marshes and going around insurmountable rocks. Mutta and his friends drove behind the rover as if to watch over it, but it stopped 200 meters before the finish line and was unable to reach the finish line. I remember that they still had a look of satisfaction on their faces.
The Roomba Combo 10 Max, named "Fouyhnhnm," returned safely, but I think it was born after such trial and error. The first Roomba was born in 2002 as the first robot vacuum cleaner in the United States. It was released by iRobot, which was founded by roboticists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the setting for the movie "Good Will Hunting." Founded in 1990, the company developed robots for use in places where humans cannot go, such as extraterrestrial exploration and mine removal. In other words, you can now experience the activities of space at home. When you think about it like that, it seems a little cheap... For those who want to try it out, there seems to be a subscription service, so why not try it out during the New Year holidays?
