08. Who came to the brand's first exhibition?
The brand was launched in June, and an exhibition was scheduled for July. I made about 30 or 40 samples and felt like it was just barely in shape. Then on the first day, a woman entered the venue first. She had a grim look on her face, looked around the products, then left. When I asked someone at the company, "Who is this person?", it was Yodogawa-san (Miyoko Yodogawa, deceased), who was the editor-in-chief of Olive at the time. What! I wanted to call her when I was a little more confident, but who called her... I felt depressed. That night, I received a phone call, and when I answered, it was Yodogawa-san. I answered the phone nervously, wondering if I was going to be told off.
