13. It's cool, it's fun, that's all I ever thought about.
Although Labrador Retriever was doing extremely well, I was fired from Labrador Retriever Co., Ltd. in 1995. The company was run by my wife's father, her two older brothers, and me, and I was the president until I quit. I don't think I was at fault, but it may have been due to a combination of factors, such as my father-in-law's main business not going well and my brother-in-law, who had no connection to fashion, not being able to fit into the industry. The following year, we filed a lawsuit over the trademark rights.
