Whether it's fashion, music, or sports, there is a style that only each person can bring out in any genre. "Style is Everything." That's right, someone said that style is everything. "Style Resume" is a series of interviews with adults who, as the name suggests, have style. Updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the ninth installment features Nakamura Non, who started her career as a stylist and is currently involved in activities such as conveying the Harajuku of the 1970s. Born and raised in Tokyo, Non's unique style was born from being exposed to the city's culture at a young age. Take a look at this article.
04. The view of Harajuku made me feel like I was in a foreign country.
At the entrance ceremony of my junior high school, I wore a pair of navy and red lined VAN socks with bit loafers. Then, boys with 3-7 Ivy League-style haircuts looked at my feet and said things like "VANs." So I thought, "I want to be friends with these kids" (laughs).
Going back a little, I attended my elementary school graduation ceremony in a dress that had a similar feel to the group sounds uniform. Even back then, I had a strong desire to wear trendy things. But looking back, I had a hairstyle that was a side-parted "maiden cut" with bangs held in place by a hairpin, so it looked really weird (laughs).
