Whether it's fashion, music, or sports, there is a style that only each person can express in any genre. "Style is Everything." That's right, someone once said that style is everything. "Style Resume" is a series of interviews with adults who, as the name suggests, have style, and is updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In this 16th installment, we will consider what it means to live with art through the life of Mick Itaya, a visual artist who has worked on the original logo for Uniqlo and whose cassette magazine "TRA" is permanently preserved at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

04. When I entered high school, I was inspired by the atmosphere of the times.

I was already aware that I was good at drawing when I was in elementary school, and my homeroom teacher, seeing that, encouraged me to become a designer. However, I didn't have any knowledge of graphics or products, so I could only imagine female fashion designers like Hanae Mori, and it didn't really resonate with me at the time.

I went to a private Ibaraki Junior High School for junior high school. It was a so-called "preparatory school." My grades in the first midterm exam were near the bottom, so my father quickly arranged for a private tutor. I didn't have any particular desire to do arts and crafts, but I quickly became fascinated with it. However, I couldn't be positive about things that didn't interest me.
