Whether it's fashion, music, or sports, there is a style that only each person can have in any genre. "Style is Everything." That's right, someone said that style is everything. "Style Resume" is a series of interviews with adults who literally have style. Updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the commemorative 10th installment features Matsutoya Masataka, who is known for his wide-ranging activities as a musician, but is also known as a lover of cars, watches, and fashion. 05. Pop music has slowly encroached on me.

I started my first band in junior high school, but I played guitar instead of piano. For me, classical music and pop music are completely different. They're as different as baseball and sumo. I think I felt that pop music was vulgar, but I think this was also influenced by my parents. I didn't have a single pop music record, and I didn't watch any music programs on TV. But I loved Sylvie Vartan's "Find the Idol" and Mina's "Tears in the Sand" (both 1964), which I learned about from the radio, and I listened to them carefully when they were played. Looking back, the American home dramas I often watched on TV when I was in elementary school were paired with pop music, so I guess they were gradually invading me from that point on.
