HANG OUT VOL.3

HANG OUT VOL.3Let's Play!

Wear your usual clothes for the round.

What should I wear while playing? Golf wear with prominent logos and tight-fitting functional clothing are not in our context. It's hard to choose shoes from brands you don't know well. So why not try putting together a familiar outfit that you usually have hanging in your closet, like this.

Chapter 05 | Let's Play!

Golf and tennis do not have a set uniform. Therefore, players are free to dress as they like, and their sense of style is important. In golf in particular, your personality will be revealed through a variety of items, including your golf bag, clubs, jacket style on the way to and from the game, and other equipment.

As for clothing, although the industry has become more casual recently, there are still dress codes such as absolutely no denim and generally preferring collared clothing. Even so, this time at "Hangout" we would like to propose a relaxed golf style.

However, when we looked around the golf market, we honestly couldn't find anything that perfectly matched our mood. So we decided to think about it using the clothes we usually wear. In other words, a golf style created with clothes other than golf wear. We stuck to the American casual style that "Hangout" is based on, and we came up with this style by freely combining them.

The classic Ivy League style is an argyle checked vest paired with chino pants. Instead of a T-shirt, he tucks in a bright orange shirt underneath for a classic look. The shoes are old Vans golf shoes, with soles that are a shade of green. A nice touch.

Noah vest ¥63,800 (Noah Clubhouse Tel. 03-5413-5030), Carhartt WIP hoodie ¥26,400 (Carhartt WIP Shibuya Tel. 03-3770-9810), Neat pants ¥154,000 (Nishinoya Tel. 03-6434-0983), Oakley sunglasses ¥43,230 (Luxottica Japan Customer Service Tel. 0120-990-307), Vintage shoes ¥19,800, polo shirt reference price, sun visor reference price (both the Divot STORE https://thedivot.tokyo), Titleist putter ¥60,500 (Acushnet Japan Inc. Winter rounds are cold. But I don't want to give up on ease of movement, so I wear a down vest. I'm going for a bold color scheme, pairing a wine red hoodie with wool madras checked pants. Checked pants remind me of Ian Poulter, England's leading professional golfer. He is famous for being a stylish man on the PGA Tour, and even professional golfer Ryo Ishikawa admires his sense of style.

Carhartt WIP jacket ¥50,600 (Carhartt WIP Shibuya Tel. 03-3770-9810), Polo Ralph Lauren polo shirt ¥20,900 (Ralph Lauren Tel. 0120-3274-20), Captain Sunshine cut and sew ¥53,900 (Captain Sunshine Tel. 03-6277-2193), Margaret Howell pants ¥36,300 (Margaret Howell Tel. 03-5785-6445), Steven Alan hat ¥9,460 (Steven Alan Shinjuku Tel. 03-5321-9970), Ivor sunglasses ¥24,200 (Ivor Tokyo Store Tel. 03-6427-3677), Onoff gloves ¥2,200 (Onoff Customer Service Tel. 0120-506-204) Titleist Putter ¥60,500 (Acushnet Japan Inc. Tiger Woods often wears red, black, and white clothing, which not only stands out against the green but also represents his sincerity as a gentleman's sport, which is a nice touch.

So why not go for an all-white look? A mock neck T-shirt, a polo, a Carhartt work jacket, and other items you would normally find in your closet, all slightly oversized. It's a clean style that will make you stand up straight even while you're playing.

I don't usually wear a jacket during a round. But ignoring the rules of golf, I think this outfit looks golf-like.

There are some common items when golf and American casual are combined, but rugby shirts and swing tops are one of them. If you put together a jacket, it looks more like a player ... or a spectator. The bag is also cute.

The collared shirt and tied up look formal, but the casual pattern makes it feel like an extension of your everyday fashion.

If things get heated during a game, you can just take off and put on a swing top, and a slightly flashy beanie might just help you stand out on the wide open green.

By the way, when watching a golf game on TV, you can see spectators with binoculars accompanying the players. There are many different sports, but this kind of viewing style may be unique to golf.

As I said at the beginning, golf is a great opportunity to test your sense, whether on the green or in the clubhouse. That's why you want to choose items and style that are unique to you. And the Ivy League style that I've incorporated as the essence of this style is a simple and sturdy genre of American casual, yet functional. So wearing such clothes on the golf course is a surprisingly natural progression, and it seems to have something in common with the spirituality of golf.

Moreover, if you wear clothes that you are used to wearing, you will feel more natural and your score will likely improve... This hypothesis is a bit of a leap, so I'd like someone to test it for themselves.
